Iron Mountain Construction was founded in 1989 by Bill Icenhour. Bill began his career in utility construction with CFW Construction Co. He worked throughout the southeast on large utility projects. He went on to be the project manager for Sanders Brothers, Inc. in Charlotte, NC.

In 1989, Bill started Iron Mountain Construction and enjoyed working in the business with his family for 27 years. He continued to be a valued member of the business until his death in October of 2016. Bill's son, Sam Icenhour and daughter, Kim Hayworth own and operate the company now. His youngest son, Billy Icenhour owns BPI Enterprises but continues to be involved in the company.
