History and Mission


Iron Mountain Construction Co., Inc. is a Utility Contractor specializing in Water and Gravity Sewer Mains. We have been in business since 1989 and are licensed in North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and South Carolina.

The company was founded in 1989 by Bill Icenhour. Bill started his career in utility construction in 1969 with CFW Construction. Though the company has been owned and operated by his children, Sam Icenhour and Kim Hayworth, since 1997, Bill continues to be a key member of Iron Mountain.

Sam has worked in utility construction since he was a teenager, working for Bill during the summer. He is the President, Project Manager and Chief Estimator. Kim has been with the company since 1993. She is the Chief Executive Officer, Project Administrator and Estimator.

Throughout our twenty plus years in business our goal has always been to provide a quality job and to do so with integrity. We take pride in our work and expect the same of our employees.

Our motto is " Safety and Quality 1st " and that's how we operate.
